GUIDES/COMPARISON

WideBundle or Solid Bundles? Count what a strong month costs.

WideBundle is a polished offer widget with a loyal following. Two things deserve a close look before you commit: where its published pricing tiers cap out, and what actually lands in your orders. An honest comparison.

Short version: WideBundle (Mat De Sousa, on the App Store since 2020, 4.9 stars across roughly 320 reviews) is a well-made storefront offer widget with an unusually broad menu of offer types, and a strong reputation in the European e-commerce community. If maximum offer variety on the product page is the goal, it deserves its rating. Solid Bundles optimizes the other half of the sale: what your warehouse, your ERP and your accountant receive after the offer converts. That is the whole product: bundles serious operations can trust.

What WideBundle is genuinely good at

Offer variety and presentation: fixed bundles, multipacks, mix and match, variant bundles, quantity breaks, BOGO, cross-sells, with flexible pricing options and integrations into the page builders direct-response stores actually use (GemPages, PageFly and friends). The developer is a known, active voice in the Shopify community. As a conversion widget it is polished and proven.

The pricing detail worth reading twice

WideBundle meters additional revenue, and its published tiers cap low. As published on its App Store listing: Basic at $14.99 covers up to $500 in additional revenue per month, Standard at $19.99 up to $1,000, and Advanced at $24.99 up to $2,000. Read those numbers against your own ambition: if bundles work the way you hope, $2,000 a month in additional revenue is not a ceiling you want to be negotiating with in the middle of a good month. Metered pricing is legitimate and disclosed, but the thing it charges for is your success.

The order question its listing does not answer

WideBundle's listing describes offers, discounts and design in detail, and says nothing about how a sold bundle is represented in the order: whether your warehouse sees real component SKUs, how inventory is decremented, or what a partial refund does. That does not mean the answer is bad. It means you should get it empirically before you depend on it: place a test order, open it in Shopify admin, read the line items, refund it, and watch stock. The five-minute test works on any bundle app, ours included.

With Solid Bundles the answer is structural rather than configurable: bundles expand during checkout, through Shopify's native Cart Transform, into real component SKUs at original prices with the discount allocated per line. Inventory decrements natively on components, the app has no write access to your inventory, and a built-in verification tool proves pricing in every market you sell in, on demand and again every night.

Who should pick which

What is Solid Bundles?

Solid Bundles is Crescano's Shopify app for fixed bundles, kits and quantity breaks, built on Shopify's Cart Transform API. Real component SKUs land in every order by construction, the app never writes to your inventory, and verification re-runs every night in every market. Flat $29 per month at any volume. The setup guide, 3PL guide, and troubleshooting docs are public.

Install the trial, place a test order, and read the order. If it does not show real component SKUs with correct inventory movement, you will know in five minutes and it cost you nothing. Migrating existing bundles? I do it personally at no cost, usually within a day: email [email protected].
