It is the reference implementation of the kit category: broad bundle types including mix-and-match matrices, deep 3PL and WMS integration coverage, POS support that scales to unlimited locations on higher plans, Shopify Flow support, and a free tier (3 bundles, 50 orders a month) that lets you start without paying. It also handles split-location fulfillment scenarios with documented location modes that we do not attempt. If you want the biggest team and the longest integration list in the category, it is the safe choice and we will not pretend otherwise.
The architectural fork: write-path sync vs read-only
Every real-SKU kit app must answer one question: when component stock changes, how does the kit's availability follow it? There are exactly two answers.
The sync answer. The app maintains an inventory quantity for the bundle and keeps it synchronized with component stock. Simple Bundles' own listing describes it plainly: multi-SKU inventory sync across 3PL, WMS, ERP and fulfillment. This works, and at their maturity it works well. But it has a structural property no amount of engineering removes: the app owns and writes an inventory number in your store. Any app that writes inventory can, in a failure mode, write it wrong. Sync architectures therefore ship a manual re-sync backstop for the cases where the automatic path does not complete, and the merchant is the one who notices when it is needed.
The read-only answer. Solid Bundles never creates or writes a bundle inventory number. Availability is computed at read time as the minimum buildable count from your live component stock, and at checkout the kit expands into its component line items through Shopify's native Cart Transform, so components decrement natively, per location, by Shopify itself. There is no sync job, no synced number that can drift, and no backstop button, because there is nothing to re-sync. Uninstall the app and your inventory is byte-for-byte what it was.
Neither answer is dishonest. But if your counts feed an ERP or a 3PL, ask which failure mode you would rather own: a sync that needs watching, or an app that structurally cannot write your numbers.
Drift detection: a button vs every night
Correctness decays silently: catalogs change, markets get added, discounts collide. The sync architecture's answer is the re-sync button, which fixes drift after someone notices it. Solid Bundles ships the noticing: one click builds real test carts in every market you sell in and reports exactly what customers would pay, and the same verification re-runs automatically every night for every store. When something breaks at 2 a.m., the report says so before your customers do. No kit app in the category, Simple Bundles included, ships continuous verification.
The finance angle: order lines your ERP can reconcile
